No New Posts Bravil

Bravil is a squalid town located on the banks of the Niben Bay, south of the Imperial City. The Larsius River passes through and wraps around the town, as the Green Road curves around it.

Bravil is described as one of the poorest towns in Cyrodiil. Houses are built shack-like: wooden and stacked upon each other. The Larsius River that runs through the town serves as Bravil's sewers. Because of its location on the bay's shore and the marshes and swamps that surround it, the climate is damp and smelly. The Lucky Old Lady, a statue that lies in a square east of Bravil's Great Chapel and has been standing since the first era, serves as Bravil's most famous structure and an object of tales on its origin.

No New Posts Skingrad

Skingrad is a large town located in the West Weald region, to the southwest of the Imperial City, along the Gold Road. The town divides into three districts: the Castle, Hightown, and Chapel, with various gates and bridges connecting each district. The town is further divided in two parts: the north wall encompasses the business district and the guild halls, while the southern half holds homes and the Great Chapel of Julianos, where citizens and travelers can pray for healing. Outside of town is the castle of Janus Hassildor, count of Skingrad and wizard, who is reportedly a vampire, a fact known to and kept as a secret by the Mages Guild.

The town is particularly famous for its wines, tomatoes, and cheeses, which contributes to its overall prosperity. Famous wine makers in Cyrodiil such as the Surilie brothers and Tamika live in the town.

No New Posts Anvil

Anvil is a prosperous harbor city on the Gold Coast by the Abecean Sea at the very southwest end of Cyrodiil. It is located at the end of the Gold Road, past both Skingrad and Kvatch.Anvil consists of five districts: Castle Anvil, Chapelgate, Westgate, Guildgate and Harborside. The Countess of Anvil is Millona Umbranox. Her husband, the former Count Corvus Umbranox, disappeared ten years ago. Several citizens will comment on the Redguard influence on local house architecture, which are built in a similar style to that of nearby Hammerfell.

No New Posts The Imperial City

The Imperial City is the capital of Cyrodiil and the whole of the Empire. It is located on City Isle, an island in Lake Rumare in the Nibenay Valley, at the center of the Imperial province, and is circular in shape. In the middle of the circle that is the city is the Green Emperor Way district, containing the Imperial Palace and its White Gold Tower. Surrounding it are six districts, starting from twelve o'clock and going clockwise:

Market District
Arena
Arboretum
Temple District
Talos Plaza District
Elven Gardens District
Also on the island is the Arcane University, the Imperial Prison and the Waterfront, which is the harbor of the Imperial City. A single bridge connects the island to the mainland near Weye. Roads lead from the capital in all directions.

No New Posts Cheydinhal

Cheydinhal is a city in eastern Cyrodiil whose architecture and culture contains heavy Dunmer influence, due to its close proximity to Morrowind's border. Located in the foothills between the Valus and Jerall Mountains, Cheydinhal sits on the northeast edge of the Nibenay Basin, a river valley of tributaries to Lake Rumare and the Niben River.Cheydinhal consists of three districts: Cheydinhal Castle, Market, and Chapel. The dominating feature of the city is a tributary of the Corbolo River, which bisects the city from north to south. The river is crossed by three bridges: a single bridge to the north connects the Market district to the Chapel district, while two smaller bridges south connect the southwest plaza and Chapel via a small island park. The current Count is Andel Indarys of House Hlaalu.

No New Posts The Remains of Kvatch

Kvatch is a city in the hinterland of the Gold Coast between Anvil and Skingrad, built on top of a mountain.

Early history of Kvatch is present in Rislav The Righteous, wherein it states that the kingdoms of Kvatch and Skingrad were at a time of rivalry during the fifth century, until ending their skirmishing in 1E 472. Kvatch was under rule of King Justinius during this time, whose daughter Belene was wed to Prince Rislav of Skingrad (assumedly to make peace between the two kingdoms). Towards the end of the fifth century, The Kings of the Colovian West joined with Kvatch and Skingrad to resist the Alessian army and its Reform.

Sources show it was a major settlement when sacked by the Camoran Usurper in the 3E 249. During this assault, Antus Pinder led the defense of the city, and despite being defeated gravely, was given a statue in Kvatch to remember his courage and spirit.

The most recent ruling family of Kvatch is the Goldwine lineage. An unknown act caused the death of both sons of Count Haderus Goldwine in 3E 432, causing a short period of unrest in Kvatch. In the year 3E 433, the city was under the rule of Ormellius Goldwine when, not long after the assassination of Uriel Septim VII, the city was sacked and destroyed by the Daedra as the opening move in the Oblivion Crisis, leaving Kvatch with no count.

At the opening of the Fourth Era, following its liberation from the Daedra, the city is uninhabited and only the chapel and castle remain standing; remnants of the Arena that had once existed in the town can also be recognized.

Additionally, according to some dialogue and description in The Infernal City, Kvatch was later renamed Ionith in honor of Captain Ione who gave his life in defense of the city. The full story is all but unknown.

The City now lays in ruins by the deadra.

No New Posts Blackwood

Blackwood is the swamp area on the most-southern part of Cyrodiil. The borders of Black Marsh lie to the east, the borders of Elsweyr lie to the west and Topal Bay lies to the South. The regions of Nibenay Basin and Nibenay Valley border on the north. Traveling to and from the Blackwood area is done via the Yellow Road going from Leyawiin to the eastern part of the Imperial City. The Green Road also goes through Blackwood, from Bravil to Leyawiin.

By and large, the vegetation of the region matches its dank nature. The most prominent plants are Green Stain and Clouded Funnel mushrooms, and Bog Beacon and Stinkhorn mushrooms are unique to the area. There are also quite a few Somnalius plants and Lilies, whilst Nirnroot finds a natural home along the banks of the Niben and in the dark pools to the east.

No New Posts Valus Mountains

The Valus Mountains are a mountain range on the Cyrodiilic side of the Cyrodiil/Morrowind border. They share a northern border with the Jerall Mountains and a southwestern border with the Nibenay Basin.

The Valus Mountains are steeper and more difficult to traverse than the Jerall Mountains, and the harsher environment is reflected in the vegetation. Only Clouded Funnel Cap mushrooms, Milk Thistle, Motherwort and Tinder Polypore Cap mushrooms grow in the mountains' inhospitable heights.

No New Posts Jerall Mountains

The Jerall Mountains (sometimes spelled Jeral Mountains) is a mountain range in northern Cyrodiil. Skyrim borders on the north. It shares a border with the Colovian Highlands to the west, and the Great Forest and Nibenay Basin to the south. To the east, the mountain range merges with the Valus Mountains.

Some notable mountains in this range are Gnoll Mountain and Dive Rock. Travel through the Jerall Mountains can be difficult, with many steep mountainsides and glaciers. However, there are several unmarked roads that facilitate travel in this area. Most of the sites of interest in the Jerall Mountains are along or near one of these unmarked roads.

The largest city in the Jerall Mountains is Bruma. Cloud Ruler Temple is also located here.

The flora of the region is more extensive than one might first suppose for such mountainous land, although it consists largely of hardy plants able to survive in the cold. Clouded Funnel Cap mushrooms, Lavender, Milk Thistle, Motherwort and Tinder Polypore Cap mushrooms all grow here, and Wormwood is unique to the region.

No New Posts Gold Coast

The Gold Coast is a coastal area covering the peninsula on the west coast of Cyrodiil. It is bordered on the west by Hammerfell and the Abecean Sea. The borders of the Colovian Highlands and the West Weald lie to the east. The Gold Road, running from Kvatch to Anvil, cuts through the middle of the region.

Within Gold Coast lies the cities of Anvil and Kvatch and the counties of County Anvil and County Kvatch.

Along the coast itself are plentiful Water Hyacinth plants, along with a few of the elusive Nirnroot. Further inland there is a bounty of Aloe Vera, Fennel, Lady's Mantle and Goldenrod plants - providing ingredients that are rare elsewhere in Cyrodiil. There are also many Arrowroot, Bergamot, Ginseng, Mandrake, St Jahn's Wort and Lily plants, but those ingredients are also found elsewhere.

No New Posts West Weald

The West Weald is an open countryside of southern Cyrodiil, well known for its vineyards and tomato farms. It borders Valenwood and Elsweyr on the south, and the regions Gold Coast on the west, Colovian Highlands and Great Forest on the north, and Nibenay Valley on the east.

The city of Skingrad is centrally located in the region.

The vineyards for the two most notable types of wine are located in the West Weald, just west of Skingrad, and residents of Skingrad believe that Undena Orethi's tomato farm is also of great quality. In fact, the region is clearly the breadbasket of Cyrodiil and very few plants do not grow here. Ingredients that grow abundantly in the West Weald include Alkanet Flowers, Columbine, Flax, Lady's Smock, Nightshade, and Peonies.

The West Weald is also known for its population of West Weald Bears, some of the most dangerous in Cyrodiil.

No New Posts Colovian Highlands

Colovian Higlands is the plateau on the western edge of Cyrodiil. The borders of Hammerfell lie to the west. The Black Road extends a short way into the region from the eastern border. The regions of Gold Coast and West Weald border on the south, and the regions of Jerall Mountains and Great Forest on the east.

Vegetation in the region is sparse. There is a reasonable concentration of Mandrake along the border with Hammerfell, some Clouded Funnel Cap to the north, plus Motherwort and Viper's Bugloss in the south west, but apart from those the highlands are an area of bare rock, wispy grass and light forestation.

No New Posts Nibenay Basin

the Nibenay Basin is a region in eastern Cyrodiil. The northern part of the region encompasses the city of Cheydinhal.

To the east, it shares a border with the Valus Mountains region. To the west, the region is bounded almost entirely by the Heartlands except for a small area in the north that lies next to the Great Forest. The area stretches south as far as the Panther River. The eastern portion of its southern edge abuts Black Marsh, while the western portion meets the Nibenay Valley and the southern portion borders Blackwood.

The Blue Road enters into the region from the west, and the Yellow Road enters from the west and exits to the south.

The region is surprisingly sparsely-vegetated. The south holds abundant Summer Bolete mushrooms and Foxgloves but only Lavender, Monkshood and Bergamot grow much elsewhere. There is also a sprinkling of other plants including Lady's Smock, Ginseng, Flax, Columbine, Alkanet, Motherwort, Peony and Primroses plus a few Nirnroot growing along the banks of the region's many rivers.

No New Posts The Great Forest

Great Forest is the woodland region forming a C-shape north, west, and south of the region Heartlands, the border being roughly formed by the Red Ring Road. Jerall Mountains borders on the north, Colovian Highlands on the west, and West Weald on the south. It also shares a short border with Nibenay Basin on the east and Nibenay Valley on the south. The Orange Road slices across the northern portion of the region, with The Silver Road going up through the north, The Black Road going across the west, and both The Green Road and The Gold Road going down through the south.

Within the Great Forest, the city of Chorrol is situated on the western edge.

The forest is home to a host of different plants. One of the densest concentrations of Bergamot plants is here, along with Summer Bolete mushrooms, Viper's Bugloss and Monkshood. Other plants include Clouded Funnel, Fly Amanita and Green Stain mushrooms, Motherwort, Primroses, Somnalius ferns and St. Jahn's Wort. Lastly, Steel Blue Entoloma grows almost nowhere else.
